Background

Dr Nei I-Ping is a Consultant Neurologist at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. He was previously the Head and Senior Consultant (Department of Neurology) at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

He received his MBBS from the University of Singapore (1970). In 1973, he went on an Exchange Scholarship of medical registrars between the Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney and the Ministry of Health, Singapore. He was awarded the WHO Fellowship in Neurology to Belgium, UK and the US in 1977. Dr Nei is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (1973) and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (1976) and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (1977).

Dr Nei is an appointed member of the panel of medical experts for subordinate courts mediation service. He was also a member of the advisory committee for the governance of the National Neuroscience Institute and other National Centres, a member of the Clinical Neuroscience Center Advisory Committee in Mount Elizabeth Hospital, and an External assessor for exit assessment in Neurology, Academy of Medicine. His previous appointments include being Chairman of the National Committee on Neuroscience, member of the Medical Advisory Board of Mount Elizabeth Hospital and member of the committee of Health Services Markets Subgroup, Economic Review Committee of Economic Development Board of Singapore.
