Background

Dr Tan Chue Tin is a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. He is also a Visiting Consultant at the Woodbridge Hospital/Institute of Mental Health, and an Examiner for the post-graduate degree of Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) at the National University of Singapore.

He received his MBBS from the University of Singapore (1971). He is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (London)(1975) and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (1979) and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (1979). He is also a member of the American Psychiatrists Association (1998).

Dr Tan has been appointed by the Ministry of Health since 1999 to be a Member of the Specialists Training Committee for Psychiatry. He is a member of the Committee on Psychiatry, Postgraduate Medical Board, Medical Faculty, National University of Singapore, and sits on the Board of Assessors for Advanced Training in Psychiatry.

In addition, he is a member of the Board of Visitors, Institute of Mental Health and Medical Advisor, Elizabeth-Charter Behaviour Health Service. Dr Tan is also the Chairman of a counseling school that trains professional counselors from Graduate Diploma to Masters’ degree levels. Further details of the school are available at www.ecta.edu.sg.
