Background

Dr Lau Chee Chong is an Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeon (Otorhinolaryngologist) and Head & Neck Surgeon. He has been the Medical Director of the Ear Nose & Throat Centre CC Lau at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre for the last 16 years.

Dr Lau received his MBBS from the University of Singapore. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and a Fellow (Roll of Specialists) of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He is also an International Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

He has worked previously at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital (London), the Great Ormond Street Sick Children’s Hospital (London), The London Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is a seasoned speaker and instructor on ENT topics, having given lectures and demonstrations at specialist ENT and general medical conferences in Singapore, Australia, India and Malaysia. In 2000, he was the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Mount Elizabeth Hospital Scientific Meeting, which had a theme of “Paediatric ENT”, with a special focus on Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Children. He has also been interviewed on live Chinese radio programmes, giving advice on ENT topics.

Dr Lau is an appointed medical expert and specialist (ENT) of the Panel of Medical Experts, Subordinate Courts, Court Mediation Service, Singapore. He has served on many boards and panels of various embassies, legal bodies and professional associations and societies, including the Medical Advisory Board of Mount Elizabeth Hospital. He is a member of the Singapore Medical Association, the Singapore Society of Oncology, the Singapore Sleep Society and the Singapore Society of Otorhinolaryngology.

His practice covers all areas – surgical and medical – of ENT and Head and Neck practice. He has a particular interest in paediatric ENT (for children), treatment for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, endoscopic sinus and base of skull surgery, otology and middle ear surgery and head and neck cancers.

He is fully conversant in English, Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and Teochew, and is also reasonably conversant in medical Japanese.
