OTOLARYNGOLOGY

Otolaryngology is the branch of medicine specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, head and neck disorders. Practitioners are called otolaryngologists or ear nose and throat (ENT) surgeons.

ENTs are medical doctors who complete at least five years of surgical residency training (one year in general surgery, four years in ENT surgery). Some ENTs also pursue sub-specialty fellowships which are usually one or two years in duration.
