Dr. Chew Chuan-Tieh is a Consultant Ear Nose & Throat Surgeon at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre and a Visiting Consultant (Department of Otolaryngology) at the Changi General Hospital. He was previously the Head and Senior Consultant (Department of Otolaryngology) at the Singapore General Hospital and a Part-Time Lecturer both at the Faculties of Dentistry and Medicine at the National University of Singapore.

He received his MBBS from the University of Singapore (1976). He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh)(1981), the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow)(1981) and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (1985).

Dr. Chew completed a fellowship in Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) surgery at the City Hospital & Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland (1981) and at the Stanford University Medical Centre (Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery), USA (1987) for head and neck cancer surgery.

He is currently a member of the Expert Panel for ENT Surgery with the Health Sciences Authority (Centre for Pharmaceuticals and Centre for Drug Evaluation) and a Committee Member of the Otolaryngology/ENT Surgery Specialist Training Committee (Ministry of Health / Post-Graduate School of Medicine, National University of Singapore). He is also an International Fellow of American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.  He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and has been an invited speaker at numerous international and local conferences and seminars. 

Dr. Chew was formerly on the Medical Advisory Board for the Mount Elizabeth Hospital, a member of the Committee for Head and Neck Cancer at the National Cancer Centre of Singapore, a Panel Member for ENT Surgery with the National Panel of Medical Experts Subordinate Courts Mediation Service and a Committee Member of the Advisory Committee on Otolaryngology with the Ministry of Health.

He was also previously a Founder Member of the Singapore “New Voice Club” for Laryngectomees of the Singapore Cancer Society, President of the Singapore Society of Otorhinolaryngology and a Volunteer with the Medical Specialists Team for the Unifam Riau-Singapore People Project (1998).
