Dr Alex Fok is Consultant Physician & Endocrinologist practicing at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Center, Singapore.
He received his MBBS (1981) and Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine)(1986) from the National University of Singapore, followed by Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) in 1987. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Endocrinology) in 1990 and as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) in 1998.
From 1989 to 1990, Dr. Fok trained in reproductive endocrinology & andrology in Melbourne, Australia under the tutelage of Professors Henry Burger and David de Kretser at the Medical Research Center of Prince Henry's Hospital and Monash Medical Center's Reproductive Biology Laboratory.
Returning to clinical practice at the Singapore General Hospital in 1991, Dr Fok was promoted to Consultant in 1992 and to Senior Consultant in 1996. In 1995 He was appointed Head of Endocrinology at the Singapore General Hospital, Singapore's largest public hospital.
Dr. Fok’s past and present appointments include being on the Standing Committee on Anti-Doping, the Singapore National Olympic Committee, the Honorary Advisor to the Society for Healthy Aging, Research and Education (Hong Kong), a Member of the Medical Advisory Committee of Association for Healthy Aging and the Medical Advisory Board of Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
Dr. Fok's forte is the diagnosis and treatment of hormonal problems relating to diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, cholesterol-related issues, pituitary & adrenal disease, short stature, weight management, menopause, andropause and gender reassignment. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, osteoporosis and healthy aging
are Dr. Fok's other interests.
